Being two different brands, this is not a factory-matched pair, but a custom pair selection. It combines a 16-inch Zildjian K Dark Crash Thin with a 16-inch Istanbul Agop Turk Crash, using their contrasting construction to create a unique and low-pitched hi-hat voice. The thin, fully lathed K contributes warmth, spread, and immediate response; the raw, completely unlathed Turk brings dryness, texture, and a more compact edge.

Together they produce a low, broad sound with more air and movement than a conventional pair of hats. Closed patterns retain useful definition, but their real character appears as they open into a dark, smoky, trashy wash that can move from loose accompaniment to full crash-like accents.
