Epiphone ES-335 pro
This started out as an Epiphone ES-335 Pro, with coil-tapped humbuckers (weird for and ES-335, right?)
I made a lot of changes to it:
- StewMac golden age alnico-II humbuckers. I think these pickups are great PAF clones and short money compared to all the boutique hand-wound nonsense out there
- All new electronics - CTS pots, Switchcraft switch & jack, Sprague orange drop capacitors
- B6 Bigsby with Towner bar where the tailpiece used to go. This is by far the best approach to adding a Bigsby to one of these - requires no drilling or modification, provides great tuning stability, you can adjust the string break angle over the bridge . . . all around genius
- Tusq nut
- Schaller tuners
Great sounding and playing guitar. Probably about $700 out of pocket including all the mods.
